Private Forestry Southern Queensland (PFSQ) have set aside 5 days to help landholders in the Monogorilby and Mundubbera regions get involved and get informed about native forest management on their land.  The workshops have been postponed to begin Wed. 2 April 08, running 1 day per fortnight.  The first to be held at Mongorilby (meet outside the Hall) will cover:

  • Veg Management Act and the Code of Practice
  • Stand assessment and optimum tree stocking Rates
  • Forest condition, tree health and individual property work plan
  • Chemical thinning processes
  • Tree density and GLM outcomes
  • Product specifications
  • Contractors, contracts, standing sales, log dump sale, mill gate sale
  • Contractor management (accreditation, insurance, reputation)
  • Timber harvesting, values, product range
  • Post harvest management (Fire, stand protection, removal of temporary crossings, track and dump drainage)
  • >Regeneration from seed, lignotuber or coppice, establishment, management and protection
  • Includes diameter tape, log volume tables, forest management guides, Fire Management guide, Product specifications and Code of Practice
