Valuing the back paddock…      

a soils & forestry workshop

Guest Speakers:

Mark Sugars, Senior Natural Resource Officer, DERM will discuss the importance of understanding your soil’s capabilities and limitations for a sustainable grazing enterprise.

Bill  Schulke, Extension Officer, PFSQ will share his knowledge of the tree/grass balance and show you how to assess the value or your ‘back country’ for grazing and timber production.

As part of the Sustainable Practices project,  participants of the workshop have the opportunity to apply for cash incentives up to $3,000  to implement improved soil management practices identified at the workshop. 

The workshop is part of the Sustainable Practices project, an initiative of the Burnett Mary Regional Group funded through the Australian Governments Caring for our Country program.
