FREE Feral Pig Control Workshop

Wednesday, 24 October 2012 – 9am

Hosted by North Burnett Regional Council and supported by the Burnett Mary Regional Groups Healthy Habitats Program, this workshop will include a presentation from the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) District Experimentalist, James Speed.  The presentation will include information on the impacts feral pigs have on the environment and agricultural productivity, plus different techniques which are used and can be used to control feral pigs.  North Burnett Regional Council & Burnett Mary Regional Group invites all district primary producers and community members to attend.

Following the presentation, participants are invited to inspect the different pig trap designs which will be set up onsite and watch a pig trap assembly and installation demonstration by North Burnett Regional Council Land Protection Officers.
