Don’t forget there’s still time to register for the Central Burnett Private Forestry Teleconference being held tomorrow (Tuesday) night from 7.45pm! The freecall teleconference will be 45minutes of discussion and question time with three experts in the field, based here in the Widebay Burnett. Sean Ryan (Private Forestry Southern Queensland), Dave Taylor (Dept Natural Resources and Water) and Sam Slack (Slacks Hardwoods) will create a panel open to questions from the floor.
Sixty percent of timber harvested in the Burnett comes from private forests. There will be an estimated shortfall of $5 million worth of hardwood timber after the South East Qld Regional Forestry Agreement comes into force. If you’ve ever had an interest in forestry in the Burnett, then now is the time to get into it! Call the office to register today!
