Community Action Plan (CAP) leaders from across Queensland attended a ‘Community Action Plan Forum’ hosted by the Great Barrier Reef Foundation on Magnetic Island earlier this week with BCCA’s Misty Neilson representing the Burnett Baffle region.
The forum reflected on the most significant change achieved over the past 4 years of Community Action planning and implementation across the Great Barrier Reef catchments and river basins.
Forum Goals included (but were not limited to):
– Exploring the future of Community Action for reef protection outcomes
– Growing the legacy of Community driven action
– Additional CAP outcomes
– Showcasing the work, learnings and opportunities from the regional Reef Community Action Plans
BCCA is proud to be part of this innovative community driven work, along with 6 other regions across the Queensland coastline covering the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park.
