TIQ Regional Export Workshop – Rockhampton

If you’ve been thinking about your global potential, an export training workshop near you could be just what you need to help you take the next step.
The workshop series is an initiative of Advancing Trade and Investment – Queensland Trade and Investment Strategy 2017–2022 and is delivered by TIQ and the Department of State Development, Manufacturing, Infrastructure and Planning (DSDMIP) and the Export Council of Australia (ECA) following a successful pilot in 2017 in Gladstone and Brisbane.
The workshop will include:
- Why Export: An overview of the benefits of going global and why Australian companies should consider export, including a case study of a Premier of Queensland’s Export Awards winner as an example of the benefits of exploring global opportunities
- Export Readiness: An overview of growing a global business and assessing your company’s capacity and capability to export – including an export readiness checklist and how to handle enquiries.
- Market Selection: An overview of factors that can influence your market selection and how to determine the right market for you, utilising your competitive advantage.
- Your USP/UVP and Pitching for International Success: This topic explores how you can identify your unique selling proposition (USP)/unique value proposition (UVP) and the key factors to consider when developing your business pitch.
- Growing your Business for Export: An overview of considerations for taking your business to international markets, including risk management, IP protection, managing international payments, and building your export capacity and capability.
- Where to go for Assistance: This covers the range of government agencies, industry bodies, and service providers that can support you on your export journey.
- Panel Discussion and Q&A: An expert panel of Australian companies will discuss their international business experience discussing export challenges, key learnings, and top tips for success.
- Lunchtime Networking: After the panel discussion and Q&A event, networking time over lunch will enable participants to engage with presenters, panellists, DSDMIP and TIQ representatives, and fellow participants.
Venue: Customs House – Annex Space, 208 Quay Street, Rockhampton
These workshops are non-industry specific and will be held in Toowoomba, Ipswich, Sunshine Coast, Maryborough, Cairns, Townsville, Mackay and Rockhampton.
