Cool Burns Workshops hosted by BMRG will be held across the region in July.
These offer a practical introduction for landholders to the principles of traditional cool-burning practices. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about traditional cultural knowledge to look after country through cool burns, including the reasons behind it, how it’s done, and the benefits.

Dates are subject to change depending on the weather, so please call Margaret Blackman or Tom Espinoza at BMRG on 07 4181 2999 to express interest.

The first three are scheduled as follows:

• 17-21 July at Thornhill Station, Bruce Highway, Gindoran in partnership with Gidarjil Development Corporation;
• 20-21 July at 453 Burrum River, Burrum Heads, in partnership with Butchulla Aboriginal Corporation;
• 26-28 July at 920 Moy Pocket Rd, Gheerulla, in partnership with Kabi Kabi People’s Aboriginal Corporation.
