Inland Burnett graziers will now be able to increase their skills to develop personalised Property Management Plans (PMP’s) via training in the use of the open access online mapping tool, Queensland Globe. This project is thanks to funding from the Australian Government’s National Landcare Program – Smart Farms Small Grants.

A Burnett Catchment Care Association extension officer will provide one-on-one assistance to Inland Burnett graziers to develop their PMP’s over the next 2 years. This project also aims to provide graziers with more grazier to grazier learning opportunities.

“Queensland Globe is a user friendly, free application that can be used easily for Property Management Planning as a way to create property maps that allow for multiple overlays. By simply and digitally mapping paddocks, waters and other infrastructure, property managers will be able to make better management decisions”, said BCCA General Manager Katie Muller.
“For example, land managers could use Queensland Globe to help make decisions on how best remediate erosion areas. This can be done by using the elevation feature to calculate catchment flows and the soil type’s layer to identify different soil types and their potential erodibility.”
