SUMMARY:Breedplan & DNA Technology Regional Forum – Rockhampton
DESCRIPTION:The two day Rockhampton Regional Forum is suitable for cattle breeders who are interested in or currently using BREEDPLAN in their beef enterprise. \nDay one has been designed for cattle breeders that are new to BREEDPLAN or who wish to refresh their BREEDPLAN knowledge. The day will cover the role of genetics in beef breeding and outline the BREEDPLAN process (including data collection and submission). Attendees will also learn how to get the most from BREEDPLAN and how to interpret BREEDPLAN reports for their herd. \nDay two has been designed for beef producers that wish to gain a deeper understanding of the applications of DNA technology for beef breeding\, and will assume attendees have a good knowledge of the topics covered on day one. The day will cover parentage verification\, genetic conditions and the use of DNA information in BREEDPLAN analyses. BREEDPLAN herds will also be provided with a genetic progress report\, which will allow them to benchmark their current genetic progress and identify whether they have made genetic progress for each trait in recent years. \nThese days have been designed primarily for seedstock producers that use BREEDPLAN within their beef enterprise. However\, industry personnel are welcome to attend if  interested. \nProducers are encouraged to attend both days. Attendance at a single day is also an option. \nWhere: DAF Parkhurst – Conference Centre\, 25 Yeppoon Road\, Parkhurst Qld 4702 \nTo register click here!! \n  \n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:Stocktake Workshop - Monto
DESCRIPTION:Stocktake is a land condition monitoring and management program used to assess land condition and carrying capacities. \nThe workshop will also be held at a good time to get your pasture budgets sorted for winter. Pasture budgets going into winter help determine how many cattle you can safely carry until the next likely break in the season and having that knowledge allows you to adjust stocking rates early; which makes all the difference. \nPresenter Damian O’Sullivan (DAF). \nContact: Hayley Webster – Farmstuff hayley.webster@outlook.com
