DESCRIPTION:The Department of Agriculture and Fisheries invites broadacre cropping growers in the Wide Bay Burnett to the Broadacre in the Burnett Beyond 2021 forum.\nThe event will look at current climatic\, technological and business variables\, the process behind making better business decisions and explore tools to assist with agribusiness decision making.\nKeynote speaker Cam Nicholson from Nicon Rural in Victoria will discuss the process behind making a good decision and the factors to consider when searching for the right decision for your farm.\nThe forum will explore how the climate has changed in our region and the tools to interpret the climate data that is available\, with speakers to cover climate variability and how it affects decision-making options.\nOther topics will include making cropping decisions\, accessing the ‘internet of things’ to make decisions\, crop insurance as a tool to minimise risk and using pest monitoring to assist on crop management decisions. \nRegistration is free and is via Eventbrite.
